Embrace Your Body
EMBRACE YOUR BODY
We are living in a crazy word, on one hand we are bombarded with all the skinny model or fitness guru images, on the other hand we are being told to love our bodies the way they are. So what shall we do, diet and exercise until we look like one of those magazine cover celebrities or should we do nothing at all and just be happy where we are?
The answer is not that simple. I have been thinking about it a lot lately. Every time I make a Facebook post about losing weight and improving fitness I am worried that it will be misunderstood. What do I mean by that?
I strongly believe every woman should embrace her body, love it, respect it and take care of it. It is not about looking like a top model, starving yourself or exercising too much, but to look your best. To have the energy and confidence to make your dreams come true. To have healthy body and healthy mind to simply feel good every day. Without comparing yourself to anyone. Live the life on your terms, the way you always wanted. To be creative, brave and love all your uniqueness. Not try to be someone else.
But is that possible without eating healthy and being active? It is not really. Our body needs good energy food to fuel our dreams, our mind and our body. Nutritious food help us stay physically and mentally healthy. Being active gives us the incredible energy that helps to keep us again, physically and mentally healthy. The side effect is that we look better as well. Our body weight normalises, our skin looks better, the smile on our faces is easy and happy.
No we cannot change our body shape, we cannot get rid of post pregnancy stretch marks or suddenly grow taller, but we can be in a better shape. Loving the body so it can give it back. And what you get back: health, energy, quality time with the loved ones, more patience, clarity, creativity, confidence, happiness, better stress control, improved efficiency and effectiveness so you can do your work faster and have more time for yourself, just to name a few.
So eating well and exercising should not be a punishment. It is your way to a better, healthier life, the life you always wanted… isn’t it exciting?
